The Yorktown Land Trust is made up of a volunteer Board of Directors who work to preserve open space in the town of Yorktown. Operating as a non-profit tax-deductible organization, the Land Trust uses public education, media commentary, communication with elected officials and discussions with private landowners to encourage planning for open space as an essential part of "smart growth". Together with other local, regional and national land conservation organizations, the Land Trust encourages Yorktowners to enjoy and appreciate the scenic undeveloped land in town and work to protect our open space for the future.
