- Act as a watchdog, reviewing all development and other environmentally sensitive activities taking place in the Huntersville area.
- Organize social functions and community projects, including the annual spring clean-up.
- Work with the Town Board and other government entities on behalf of the communal interests of area residents.
- Form alliances with other societies, coalitions and groups with common interests for greater effectiveness.

This site contains information about the Huntersville area, current and past activities of the Huntersville Association, a list of our directors and officers, and contact information. We also document our winning struggle to prevent the Yorktown Planning Board from bulldozing the centuries-old stone walls of Hunterbrook Road.
If you would like to play an active role in the Association, please contact one of the directors or the association co-presidents, Peter Laqueur, Hunterbrook Road, or Jonathan Nettelfield, Bridge Point. To pay dues for the year, please write a check for $20.00 payable to the Huntersville Association. Mail it to our treasurer, Robert Giordano, 1795 Hunterbrook Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.If you would like to be informed of Huntersville events by e-mail, please send a note to Peter Laqueur "pal914" at aol.com, or Jonathan Nettelfield "jnettelfield" at voxinc.net.
In 2002 we removed weeds and planted trees and shrubs in the island in the intersection at Hunterbrook Road and White Hill Road. In 2003 we did a similiar project at the intersection of Hunterbrook Road and Route 129. The link below is to a page with photos of the work.

The Area: The village of Huntersville was settled 300 years ago in the Hunterbrook and Croton Valleys, predating the Town of Yorktown by a century. Much of the original settlement was flooded in 1906 by the creation of the New Croton Reservoir. The Huntersville area lies in the west of Yorktown, north of the Croton Reservoir between the Taconic Parkway on the east and the Town of Cortlandt on the west, including the following roads and lanes: Hunterbrook, Jacob, White Hill, Baptist Church, Old Logging, Maiden, Wilson, Bridge Point, Croton Lake (Route 129), Hays, Rustic Ridge, Underhill, Echo Hill, Baldwin, Gambelli, Fox Tail, and Beakman.
